STOP FLOCK

AND OTHER ALPR VEHICLE TRACKING NETWORKS

IN CARROLLTON

We made our case to City Council; they chose not to listen. Now, it’s time to leverage our power to petition. With enough signatures from registered Carrollton voters, City Council’s only option will be to put ALPR surveillance networks on the ballot, where voters decide.

WE’RE ASKING FOR:

We’re asking for a say in what happens in our city.

Specifically, we are asking Carrollton City Council to prohibit the City from acquiring, using, installing, or otherwise operating Flock Safety or any other ALPR vehicle tracking systems.

The precise legal wording's on the printed petition, so read it in full before you sign.

ALPR CAMERAS ARE ALREADY HERE

IN CARROLLTON

Creepy. Invasive. Unnecessary.

AI license plate reader cameras are located throughout Carrollton, watching you as you travel to vote, to worship, to the gun range, to dinner with your friends, to school, to the grocery store, everywhere.

Check out the live map for the latest cameras spotted by volunteers.

QUESTIONS?

WHO CAN SIGN THE STOP FLOCK PETITION?

Registered voters who live in Carrollton city limits.

CAN I SIGN THE STOP FLOCK PETITION ONLINE?

Sadly, online signatures like our original Change.org petition don’t count - lame! You must physically sign the paper petition at one of our signing locations.

SO WHERE CAN I SIGN IT?

Volunteers will be at several early voting and Election Day sites, as well as at several other physical locations starting from mid October - more info to come!

We’ll also be at Festival at the Switchyard!

& WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE ASKING CITY COUNCIL TO DO IN THIS PETITION?

Ban the City from acquiring, installing, operating, or using Flock Safety cameras or other ALPR/optical vehicle tracking systems in Carrollton. This means ending our existing contracts, removing the cameras, deleting the data they’ve stored so far, and permanently banning their use.

Of course, we very much encourage you to read the exact legal wording on the printed petition when you sign!

CAN I HELP COLLECT SIGNATURES?

You betcha! Fill out the Volunteer Sign-Up Form, or ping us on Instagram.

BACK UP. WHAT’S AN ALPR CAMERA?

An Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) is a camera that reads and records lots of data about all vehicles that pass it, and loads that data into an AI network so that agencies across the country can search it.

Lots more info here.

The petition covers Flock cameras and any equivalent vehicle-tracking system.
